Well, it’s official. Wide receiver Joe Adams, a little more than three weeks after suffering a mild stroke, is expected to play against Eastern Michigan on Saturday.
Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino, who announced Adams was cleared for “full participation” on his radio show Wednesday, explained to reporters Thursday afternoon that he expects the sophomore to play on a limited basis.
How limited?
Twenty to 40 plays, Petrino says.
“We’re excited about that,” Petrino said. “Obviously that’s a nice addition to our playmakers.”
Adams was cleared Wednesday morning after a visit with doctors in Little Rock.
Petrino would not release the cause fro the stroke, which sidelined Adams for three games. “That’s not for me to say,” Petrino explained. “I think that’s an issue with Joe and the doctor.”
In other news, junior cornerback Andru Stewart will not play Saturday. Stewart has not been at practice this week as he concentrates on his academics, Petrino said.
