Arkansas hosts Kansas, a top-25 worthy opponent, today at Baum Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 p.m.
So what exactly do we know about the Jayhawks? Well, not much. A little digging this morning finally provided some more info on the Big 12 opponent, which is in a similar boat as the Razorbacks in the bullpen.
Kansas (4-1) will send Thomas Taylor to the mound for his first career start today. Meanwhile, the Razorbacks send T.J. Forrest to the hill. Coach Dave Van Horn wanted to start Geoffrey Davenport but he had to be used in Sunday’s escape against Troy out of the bullpen, as our own Rick Fires writes today on WholeHogSports.com.
“The key to Arkansas is getting their lead-off man out,” Kansas Coach Ritch Price told The University Daily Kansan. “They are very fast and a well coached running team. They play in a great atmosphere and our guys are thrilled to play there.”
I’ll be in Baum Stadium tweeting the action (@bmarcello and @wholehogsports) and will have a post-game followup/column on WholeHogSports.com. And, yes, it’s free. It’s an exclusive you’ll only find on WholeHogSports.com.
Don’t you feel special?
See you at the ballpark.
