The Fayetteville Regional is stacked and filled with playmakers from Arkansas, Washington State, Kansas State and Grambling State.

This Kansas State fan had a simple answer to the question.

We’ve studied their rosters, stats and opined on who will break out in this postseason tournament. We’ve talked to the coaches and the players, and even sat in on batting practice to better understand these teams.

All four teams have a chance to win this regional. There’s power, great pitching and tough defense.

And every single one of their mascots are ferocious. In fact, three of the four mascots are from the feline family.

Grambling State Tigers, Washington State Cougars and the Kansas State Wildcats.

Sorry if you feel left out, Razorback fans.

Now, I don’t usually focus on silly things, but the opportunity Friday afternoon after Arkansas’ 19-7 win against Grambling State was too good to pass up. As Kansas State and Washington State were warming up for the second game of the regional, I began to wonder what the difference was between a (Washington State) Cougar and a (Kansas State) Wildcat.

I did my research on the species, but wanted to test some fans from both teams on their relation in the feline family.

Well, the fans had their own take and so did Bob Holt and Rick Fires of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Hilarity ensued.

Just watch.
