Former Arkansas guard Patrick Beverley has signed a two-year, $1.2 million contract with the Miami Heat, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Beverley was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and was traded to Miami, but he’s been playing overseas in Greece ever since. Can the shooter make a move and join the full-time roster headlined by LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade?
Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel chimes in:
A scrappy, defensive-minded prospect, Beverley will face long odds in training camp, which opens Sept. 28. The Heat will enter camp with five guards under guaranteed contract: Dwyane Wade, Mike Miller, Carlos Arroyo, Mario Chalmers and Eddie House, whose two-year contract has yet to be formally announced by the team.
Does Beverley finally break through and make an NBA roster? It’d be a heck of a time to do so in Miami, wouldn’t it?

I can’t think of any other athlete that I hate more than Lebron James! What an ego maniac!
