Arkansas Coach Bobby Petrino addressed the media this evening after practice, an unexpected appearance by the coach who replaced the media availability of special teams coach John L. Smith.
Petrino, of course, addressed the Gators hat situation, the firing of Renee Gork at KAKS and the national media attention surrounding the story.
His quote and a video I shot of his reaction is below. A story concerning this whole ordeal is waiting to be read over by an editor, so it should be up on WholeHogSports.com in the near future.
For now, the quote and video:
“I don’t know much about the intention from the national media. When the incident happened here, there was never an intention to see it escalate the way that it did. But that kind of got out of our control.”
And here’s the video for your viewing purposes. It can also be seen on WholeHogSports.com:

Gork’s 15 minutes of fame has expired. Could we please move on to more important things?
Couldn’t agree more. Ms. Gork obviously has a serious deficit of good judgement. Perhaps this episode will be a teachable moment she will take with her to wherever she lands next. Let’s get on with preparation for a championship season.
All in favor of moving on to football related issues say “aye.”
AYE
The aye’s have it. Move on. How did the newcomer’s look in the afternoon session?
why doesnt the National Media want to talk about that robbery theft of a ball game down in Gainesville Florida last year, ooooohhhh no thats right we dont want to steal any thunder from TIM TEBOW.
Two things to note from this clip:
1. he did refer to the event as “incident” which means he was genuinely pissed and NOT kidding.
2. when asked if he was surprised by ATTENTION from national media, he said he “didn’t know much about INTENTIONS of national media” which means he took note of what dicks they all are.
I am proud of this coach and how he handled the whole thing!
I respect the desire to move on but until we become part of the solution, the national media will say we’re part of the problem…
Now we are part of the solution…
