Arkansas defensive tackle DeQuinta Jones was arrested by Fayetteville police and booked in the Washington County Detention Center at 6:27 a.m. Wednesday for possession of a controlled substance.
Jones, 19, was released on $660 bond at 10:12 a.m., according to the police report, and a hearing is set for 1:30 this afternoon.
“I’m very disappointed,” Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino said Wednesday on the SEC Coaches Teleconference. “It’s something we certainly don’t want to see happen, particularly in the week of the game. I’ve not had a chance to visit with him or a chance to gather any more information, but it will certainly be addressed.”
According to the police report, Jones was pulled over at 12:37 a.m. Wednesday at the corner of Leverett Street and Holly Street because the white GMC Suburban he was driving had no license plate lights. When the officer approached the car he detected an “overwhelming odor of marijuana.”
A patdown revealed Jones had a plastic bag with 8.7 grams of marijuana in his pocket and he was placed under arrest.
Jones, a sophomore, has started all seven games for the Razorbacks this season, recording 22 tackles and a forced fumble.

You gotta be kidding me. Stupid move, but I know BP will take care of it. It may be juat my imagination, but it seems these incidences are becoming few and far between under BP. I know DD will soon come to regret this.
This is not just an Arkansas problem; its the whole generation and the way they see life. They don’t see how it affects the whole team.
Pulled over for “no license plate lights” seriously… & I thought they changed the laws on possession in Fayetteville??
First of all, I do not condone drugs, but why would you drive around in a car that is not up to snuff, knowing that the Fayetteville Police are just waiting to stop you for any little thing, and you have been smoking and have possession of drugs. Are you stupid, or what?? And like JFM says, do you realize what that impact has on your team, not to mention yourself and your future in football? Grow up, kids, and do the right thing. It’s not cool to hurt youself, your team, and your fans!
Great website greatly help me find the info we were searching for
i bought the stereo for my car thru Sonic Electronics,GO HOGS.
License plate lights, are you kidding! I think we need to place Osama Bin Laden on the Razorback football roster and send the Fayetteville Police to Pakistan. They would have him rounded up in a week!
I don’t condone the act or the stupidity of the kid, but I gaurantee you you when they saw a black kid after midnight…
like i said Razorhack, the Fayettville police dept probably has Razorback football and basketball rosters in their squad cars.
