No backseat for Arkansas players

November 2, 2011 |  by Matt Jones

FAYETTEVILLE - Arkansas’ game against South Carolina is the “other game” in college football this week.

Not only are the No. 7 Razorbacks and No. 9 South Carolina playing on the same day as the most hyped college football game of the 21st century, they are playing at essentially the same time.

The Arkansas-South Carolina game will kick-off at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, while the No. 1 vs. No. 2 game between LSU and Alabama will start at 7 p.m.

Because of the focus on Alabama-LSU (more than 600 media credentials were requested for the contest), this weekend’s showdown in Fayetteville has lost some luster. Still, both teams are in the running for division championships and that’s enough to motivate those involved.

“Our goals are right there in front of us,” Arkansas senior defensive end Jake Bequette said. “We’ve got a great opportunity to play a worthy opponent in our home stadium in front of a national TV audience. We’re excited.”

There were still around 1,600 tickets remaining for the game as of Wednesday morning, according to the UA ticket office. That isn’t necessarily an indictment on Arkansas fans as South Carolina only purchased 2,200 of its allotted 7,500 tickets.

By comparison, Auburn bought 6,000 tickets for its game last month at Arkansas. That game sold out nearly a month beforehand.

Arkansas (7-1, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) hasn’t played a home game since that contest four weeks ago, coming back to win closer than expected games at unranked Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.

Razorbacks players are hopeful those wins have generated enough excitement for their fans to gobble up those remaining tickets.

“It’s 7 versus 9, so I expect there to be a lot of people here; a packed house and good competition,” quarterback Tyler Wilson said. “It will be a fun game.

“There is another big game going on down south. I don’t think we’re flying under the radar. I think some attention will be on that game, but there should be a lot of eyes here as well.”

Injury Update

Arkansas defensive coordinator Willy Robinson said the status of defensive end Tenarius Wright is still day-to-day following Wednesday’s practice.

Wright, a redshirt junior, suffered a broken arm in the first quarter of the Razorbacks’ game at Alabama on Sept. 24. He required surgery for the injury, with a recovery period listed at four to six weeks.

Wright dressed out for Arkansas’ game against Vanderbilt last weekend, but did not play.

Arkansas receiver Greg Childs practiced with the team Tuesday after missing the Vanderbilt game with what head coach Bobby Petrino called a “tweaked knee”.

Childs has just nine catches for 109 yards this season, and no touchdowns.

“He understands it is a huge game for us,” Arkansas offensive coordinator Garrick McGee said Tuesday. “He has been around here a long time and we talked about the process that this program has been here since we came here and where we are now. I think he understands that and he feels the urgency of this game.

“He was as fast (Tuesday) as I have seen him. I am really excited to see him get out there this weekend. I think he is going to have a big game.”

  1. South Carolina, too big on Defense and too talented in the defensive backfield,
home field makes no difference here.
South Carolina 20-ArK 7 ( if they are lucky) -no luck here,Clowney and company
    sack us 6 times.

  2. Another good reason to get out of that stupid game every year with S Car. Better switch to playing Missouri every year, a lot closer and more fans. Sorry jmicha, you are way wrong. Why don’t you become a fan of the roosters and that overrated, over the hill coach of theirs.

  3. If the Hogs don’t score more than 7 points I’ll eat my shoe, and post a picture of it on Twitter. @timbishop12

  4. jmicha, homefield always has an atvantage, but it doesn’t matter in this game , we’d kick their ass anywhere , anytime, ….. take your cocks and stick ‘em where the sun don’t shine !

  5. I think you are underestimating this team, we are weak on defense and really with
no running game to speak of and really one dimensional passing( always to the right side and no special offense) The cocks shine in this one, hey their defense is as good or better than Alabama.

  6. Their defense as good as Alabama’s D? Man this guy is hoped up on something!

  7. Hey HawginUSAF, I am an AF vet myself but check the stats, they are legit and
really bigger up front than Alabama and the corners are lights out. They also have
something we can’t stop in 20 years of Ark football, a RUNNING QB. Our downfall
    everytime.

  8. This guy is just pulling your chain. SC lost at home to a one dimensional Auburn team and that was before they lost Lattimore. They had to score late in the 4th quarter to get past a mediocre Missippi State team. Last week, the struggled mightily to get past a Tennessee team that had zero offense and a shaky defense. If our offense continues to put points on the board, the Hogs will roll. Even with our less than satisfactory defense, I think SC will be lucky to score 14 points. I look for this one to be similar to the Auburn gamed with the Hogs pulling away in the second half to win by a comfortable margin.

  9. Remember StLouisHog, Garcia was QB at Auburn( remember him) Auburn has
a better running game than us.Look at what the other teams scored against them.
Thats defense- Tennessee 3 points at home- Missy State 12 points at home.
Our offensive line is not good and Tyler will take a beating from these guys.
I still stick with 20-7 cocks, comparing scores is dangerous and unreliable.

  10. What has winning and going 7-1 done to us? I have been afraid to post with all of the venom being spewed. Some want coaches fired now, others want players moved from their positions, calling out CBP for play calling, some thinking Wade was play was innocent because he did not know he called a fair catch and thought he could damn near kill the guy by spearing him, somehow SEC is wrong for suspension because they have not called on similar on Wilson, and now we have some that do not believe the #1 SEC offense can only score 7 at home?

The game is all about how many South Carolina score.

    Hogs 35 USC 20

  11. What’s the point of the negativity, though? It’s a rough matchup. It’s easier to come alive on offense for a game than it is to bring it defensively for a game, I think. And a good D seems more likely to trump a good O than visa versa. But these are two talented teams playing with inconsistency. We have them at home, and I think there is a determination from our players to prove themselves. I believe in the guys, I think it’ll be an exciting game. I don’t see why one has to keep posting a score that might be an “objective view” but does nothing for the program. Why can’t we just say we’re excited about the upcoming game and see both sides as equally capable of winning and hope that our own team comes out on top. Let’s go hogs!

  12. No negative, just stating fact, If in fact O is easier than D to get going, then why
is the next sentence “A good D seems more likely to trump and good O. Really
SC has more going for it in this game than we do. Lets face it,even if we win out
to LSU we won’t win down there. The refs normally decide that game anyway if it
is close. I think Cap bowl or Cotton is about right for us this year and start recruiting
defensive stoppers and a halfway decent secondary. Come on guys, some team is
going to clamp down on us offensively and we will not be able to recover.Could be
    this Saturday.

  13. Last week, SC was sorely pressed to score 14 points against a very bad Tennessee team. If our offense performs up to standard, we will win this game by a comfortable margin. The “Ole Ball Coach” will be exposed this Saturday. He will probably have to get a new visor after this weekend because the present one will be filthy from being thrown on the ground so much as the Hogs steamroll over the Cocks.

  14. Jmicha….You’re a moron. Comparing ANY D to Bama, except maybe LSU is insane. And as good as the SC Defense might be, their offe Sr is horrible. You obviously don’t know much about football. Your prediction is fine, but your logic is ridiculous.

  15. Moron ha ha- So let me get this straight, I don’t know much about football, but my
prediction is fine. I don’t get it( oh yeah, I forgot I am a moron) Have you kept
us with our team lately. No offensive production against a Bad Ole Miss team, no
defense to speak of against a good but not great Vandy team. SC defensive backs
will not drop interceptions Tyler throws and believe me,he won’t have time this
week to throw accurately, these guys are blitz city. Clowney and Ingram have a
    field day this week.

  16. We had 450+ yards on Ole Miss, so if that is “no offensive production,” I’ll take it. I see where you are coming from, and the Gamecocks can beat us if we don’t show up to play. However, we match up well with them; always have. The concern going into last year’s game was pass protection and they had trouble. They’ll have more success pressuring Wilson Saturday, but I think we’ll get a few licks in. Regarding their offense, we’ll make them look a little better than they are (we seem to be doing that), but without Lattimore, they will not be consistent or dynamic. Factor in a Razorback team that will be more than happy to be home and playing at night, and I think we win this game by two scores (maybe 10 points).

  17. skezell, ah the voice of reason in an otherwise homer world of Ark Football and
unrealistic expectations of an average team. We always make offenses better than
they are ( watch what happens to tennessee and missy state. Our defense concerns
me because, well see last four games. Play with fire you will get burned bad occasionally. This week we get second degree. Maybe just enough to re-evaluate
    personnel at defensive positions.

  18. jmicha = troll

jmicha = bum azz cocks fan that likes to suk cock

    jmicha = USCe’s town idiot

That’s right. Come get him USCe. You let one of the crazys loose. Lock him up.

So us true hog fans can quit reading his ridiculous drivel.

Now beat it an don’t come back.

    That is all

  19. We are going to Dominate!!! South Carolina is a Top 10 joke. So ready! Just like last year, we’re getting ready to look GOOD on national tele…

  20. People commit suicide every day.

  21. Yes….your prediction is fine, you are entitled to your opinion. But your argument makes no sense in the fact that you seem to discount that SC has NO OFFENSE at all. Have you watched them play lately? I know the SC defense is good….but when you say they are as good as Bama….you’re crazy.
If you think SC is going to hold Arkansas to 7 points at home….you are out of your mind. They could win….they have a chance…..they are a solid team with a very good D….but you’re talking about it like it’s a done deal…which is the reason for the moron comment.
The Razorback’s defense is obviously on defense….but South Carolina has not shown that they have the kind of offense that can take advantage of that.

  22. Jmicah, that’s a very bold prediction. One that could cause you to loose credibility by Sunday. But, go ahead and hang yourself.

  23. SC didn’t need offense against Tenn and Miss State but they held both of those
teams to 3 pts and 12 pts. Watch their defense and watch Ark offensive offensive
line let Tyler take shot after shot. Screens and over the middle might work but
will it work enough to score more than them, I doubt it.
    I stick by 20-7

  24. jmicha how come I have never seen you on here before

  25. If you’re comparing the Tennessee or Miss State offense to Arkansas…..you know even less than I thought.

  26. This guy’s logic is so off base that its comical. SC “held” Tennessee to 3 points at home. The fact of the matter is that Tennessee had no offense and and no qb. By that logic, they should have been “held” to 0. That won’t be a problem this Saturday. I think the Hogs will get close or go beyond the 37 points scored by East Carolina or the 42 scored by Georgia against SC. Hog fans will be able to relax in the second half of this one.

  27. jmicha hasn’t been on here before because he’s a carolina chicken. Hawgs 43 SC 17

  28. Ya I just wanted to see him say it, or get him to shut up

  29. Eat mo chikin! WPS! Who is thier backup QBs backup? I think we will see him, ol’ ball coarch always plays two against us. Death to “Darth Visor”! (malzahn wears one and I don’t like him either.) Tank Wright returns Saturday and Kni7e Davis is running full speed at practice on the sideline, we getting healthy. Death to “Foghorn Leghorn”! WPS!!!!!!!!!!

  30. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Hyde half of our D is going to show up earlier at home. South Carolina has played close low scoring games against much less offenses, so if Hyde shows up, Ark-37 SC-24, If not, Ark-24 SC 19, maybe by scoring a last play of game in which from now on a win by 1 will be just as big as 30 to me.

  31. Scott from Conway
    Scott from Conway

JMicha do you realize how dumb you sound?…Georgia scored 42 points against South Carolina THIS SEASON…yeah their D is REALLY comparable to Alabama..give me a break.

  32. jmicha…They did in fact hold them two teams to low scores. Im not for sure if you have heard but Tenn. lost their starting QB weeks ago, and USC lost their star running back againts MSU. Oh and USC has a rookie QB but he is getting a little better. Man if called your self a Hog fan then you are officially a disgrace to the Hogs
    !

  33. For those of you that asked if jmicha has ever been on the blog before he has and every thing is negative. I remeber a few weeks ago he posted “I love my Hogs, always have, always will.” I can feel the LOVE!

  34. There is a difference between negativity and fact-
    Fact- Hogs play lousy defense
    Fact-USC plays great defense
Fact- Hogs have no running game
    Fact- USC decent running game
Fact- Hogs have to catch up
Fact- see Alabama for catch up against great defense

    Remember the Score 20-7
The rabbit stays in coach’s hat

  35. jmicha,

I do not wish to be negative, but it is fact that you are wrong. Any fact can be negativity such as the fact that I am writing a post to you that is negativity.

Now in further response to your post, my take is that there is a difference between perception and reality.

Perception – Hogs play lousy defense
Reality – Hogs defense won the last the game on the road against Vandy and have plays lights out in second in all games including Alabama. Depending upon what part of the game you are watching Hogs play GREAT defense.

Perception – Hogs have no running game
Reality – Hogs would love to see USC play pass and drop 8; Without the SEC’s leading rusher, the Hogs are ranked 8th in SEC in rushing stats with run average well over 100 per game across multiple rushers.

Fact – Hogs have to catch up
Reality – they have only had to catch up a few games and they always have caught up except for the on the road game against Alabama where a punt return, fake field goal and Tyler Wilson’s last pick was thrown that put Alabama out of reach.

Fact – South Carolina will come to Fayetteville
Reality – There will be no slow start and there will be no catch up because the crowd will not allow.

Fact – South Carolina will get beat
Reality – You have two more days to talk smack before you have to Shut up

  36. Hog Authority, I agree with you on most points.I think for SC to drop 8 and
play pass would be a disaster for them but can we run enough to overcome the
fierce pass rush we are going to get from their massive front and def ends
I think not, plus they have two years of revenge and they can win the west. Didn’t
matter last year Florida was their prize.
They have to win this game,we don’t desperation is a great motivator

  37. I mean the East

  38. i heard someone say years ago that arkansas will struggle to win the NC simply because the top recruits dont want to go play in fayetteville, they would much rather go to fla. bama, ok.,ect.but with BP things seem different now,we obviously have built a very potent offense, but it goes back to the ‘saying’that ‘great offenses win games but great defenses win championships’! so.until BP and WILLY can build a top 10 defense im afraid the hogs will continue to lose the big games in the regular season and also their bowl games.i expect more 10-3…9-4..type seasons until we can get a better defense.if you look at the hogs record going back to’1894′,we are notorious for losing the ‘big game’!!the loss to bama last year and the loss to ohio st.are prime examples to what im sayin.dont get me wrong,i love the hogs and always will, but im still waiting on BP and company to get the other half of the team ready to win a championship.we’ve been waiting since 1964,i was 3 years old then! its time for another one! GHG!! WPS!!

  39. txhog
Finally somebody with some common sense to convey what I have been saying,
Defense is the key to win championships. If a NC is to come then Defensive ends
of the 6’6 variety 250lbs and up are the norm. Defensive tackles for us are ok
but just technique wise not very good. Our corners are anemic ( look at Alabama
6’4″ at least and 220 and know how to play the ball. 10-3 and 9-4 seasons are
ok and keep the program going but a NC is the true ticket to greatness.
This is a big game a lot at stake but will we fail again as in the past.

  40. Our current National Champion disproves that peception as well. Auburn’s defense last year was worse than our defense this year. Listen folks just because we say we support the team now does not me we our naive to think our defense is OK or status quo is fine. It is not. It is the manner to which and the timing to which the improvement takes place. CBP & WR are no idiots, they understand the defense has problems; but know this. They are trying to win right now with the players they have right now. Help them, support them, or let it ride a few weeks. At the end of the season we can can all chime in on the evaluations on what we should do next year.

Finally and I will say one more time:

    Under CBP, McGee & Robinson:

    2008 7 losses
    2009 5 losses
    2010 3 losses
2011 1 losses Can’t we wait to see how it finishes without all of the doom and gloom? Especially if you concede the team is only realistically capable of sustaining 3 or 4 losses every year? They are beating that now; and who is to say it will get worse before it continues to get better with bottomline results?

  41. I think what’s getting lost in all of this is that Arkansas does, in fact, play much better at home than on the road (like most AQ conference teams). On the road and at a neutral site, we tend to play to the level of our competition. At home we feed off of the crowd and generally play up to our capabilities. The Troy game was the lone exception to this.

jmicha does make some relevant points and as Hog fans we shouldn’t see everything through rose colored glasses. Having said that, consider some more relevant points:

    1. Carolina’s lofty defensive stats have inarguably come against teams with anemic offenses. There was a link posted yesterday on ESPN.com that actually had a game by game listing of the ranks of offenses they have played. So, yes, the ‘Cocks do have a good defense, but they have not been tested like they will against the Hogs.

    2. This is a Carolina team that is not too different from last year’s team. Probably a little worse on offense and a little better on defense. Last year, we played them in Columbia and beat them soundly; acutally it was a runaway. If we treat this year’s game as we did last year’s game, playing at home too, the result should be similar.

    3. I was at the Carolina v. Miss St. game in Starkville (have a daughter that’s a freshman at MSU, plus Hogs were off that day). Carolina was very anemic on offense against an average at best MSU defense. Unless their offense has improved greatly in this week of practice, I just don’t see them scoring more than 10-14 points against us.

Bottom line is that we should win the game, and next week’s game against the Vols, and the next week’s game against MSU. Are we really a Top 10 team? Tough to say. On our best days (Auburn, second half of A&M), yes. On our worst days (recent 1st halves), no. Here’s hoping we have a “best” day this Saturday.

  42. jmicha = troll meat

    Quit feeding the damn troll!!!

Ignore his azz. Dont feed him

And he will surely drop off the face of the earth

We can only hope… Fingers crossed

Like I said, USCe you lost one of your crazys

Now lock him up and throw away the key

  43. txhog: Great post about our history in big games. I’m as big a Hog fan as there is, but you can’t argue with facts. Aside from a huge win over Texas in 1964 and the bowl game that year (resulting in our National Championship), we simply have not come through when it matters most. John Brummett, who used to write for the Gazette – don’t know if he’s still around or not since I’m in Memphis – used to say that the Big Shootout loss in ’69 gave the entire state an inferiority complex that it hasn’t gotten over to this day. While that may be an exaggeration, it’s not far off base. When we win the SEC, I will say we have truly turned the corner with our program. Until then, I will certainly take the drastic improvement and top tier bowl teams that CBP is producing.

  44. I have no problem with what you say and I believe you are right. You are very
knowledgeable and I enjoy your posts. But if the defense continues to have problems and the same mistakes are being made every week. Example: the corners are a weak link constantly. If we need to stop a QB run on third down we can’t do it. A pass over the middle for 10 yds usually complete. No consistent pass rush or sacks. This is a very disturbing trend that has lasted for 3 seasons. We were sold a bill of goods prior to the season that “this is the best defense we have had since BP has been here”. I just call it like I see it, no improvement in the penetration and obviously no
improvement in the corners. I think Tevin Mitchell is the real deal and will be a lockdown corner, but he is a freshman and that can bode inconsistency. Winston should be playing better than he is, Madison shouldn’t be playing at all and Gatson should be a starter. But until we get the Defensive line straight we are going to continue to struggle, size is not the problem schemes are. Thanks for the great posts
    Hog Authority

  45. Speaking of improving the defense, and this is a little off topic, but have everyone else been searching for us in the rivals and scout rankings for next year’s recruiting class? About 30th right now, which puts us behind 7 or 8 SEC schools. Sheesh! I know these rankings and recruiting services are about as accurate as a Channel 4 weather forecast, but where is that recruiting bump we were supposed to get from the BCS bowl appearance? I do hope the staff puts primary focus on the defense in recruiting this year. We’ve got to develop some depth on that side of the ball!

  46. Pass rush and sacks are not that important but it is if a team is doing the same thing over and over and moving the ball down the field. We do not force turnovers or
make it uncomfortable for the opposition like they do to us. Lack of Discipline
penalties and stupid mental errors slow us down more than a lot of defenses. We need a complete game with the we will not beat ourselves.Force the other team to
go 80 yards. They can’t do it consistently.

  47. Recruiting is key and we are not getting it done. We are building the premier facility in the SEC and played in a BCS bowl. No bump in recruiting at all. When Auburn won last year they automatically went to a top five recruiting class. Heck, our sorry
BB team was fourth in recruiting. We will have the facilities,we should have a top
15 or 10 recruiting class every year. But also if you look the recruiting services do us no favor before we recruit them they are four stars when they commit to us they
automatically go down to 3 or less. Check it out,why would a top QB not want to play for BP. I look back at Zeke Pike- going to Auburn-come on give me a break. They
    have Moseley,Frazier

  48. Would be great if that kid from Indiana who recently de-committed from IU – Gunner Kiel or something like that – took a visit to Fayetteville. You would think that with Coach Petrino’s reputation as an offensive genius and molder of great quarterbacks, he’d at least want to give us a look.

Then again, we’ve done better historically with QBs that weren’t widely recruited (Grovey, Stoerner, Wilson vs. Mustain…).

  49. I think CBP is very high on his QB’s. I don’t think he was doing lip service but he might have been, but he and McGee were talking as if they felt Mitchell is 2nd best QB in SEC right now.

But you are right, that to become the power powerhouse we need to be able to recruit equal or better than A&M, Florida State, Auburn, Georgia etc. I concede only Texas, Michigan, Florida, Bama, LSU?, Oklahoma, USC & Notre Dame. At least in the immediate future.

This is another reason why we should not be too quick to pull triggers as we need to assess the overall talent relative to equal our NC aspirations or LSU like Alabama type defenses.

But folks if we win this weekend, the National talking heads will be talking Arkansas all next week.

I think Bama will win (at home) but I am pulling for LSU. Either way we close out undefeated and beat LSU we will be SEC #2.

  50. If you take a look at S. Carolina games their strong defense gave up 37 points to E. Carolina, 42 to Georgia, 21 to Navy, then lost to Auburn at SC. The last three games were against the three worst teams in the SEC! Razorbacks will win easily.

  51. Since Coach Petrino is the man in charge, as he should be, I suspect that any argument about whether to offer to a certain offensive player vs. a certain defensive player is resolved with the scholarship being offered to the offensive player. That would be a natural and understandable tendency. That would also explain why our deepest positions tend to be on offense (receiver, QB, tailback) and our thinnest positions on defense. Not sure that Willy is strong enough to fight for the guys he wants.

I’m sure most of you have seen the recent ESPN special (“Depth Chart”) that focused on the Hogs’ week of preparation before the Auburn game. Excellent hour. I came out of it very impressed with Garrick McGee. That guy has a future in the college game; I hope it continues to be with us.

  52. USC has only face two teams with QB’s that were known for passing East Carolina-260 yrds passing
    Georgia-248 yrds passing
They might have a high ranked pass defence but they have not played a passing offence that is as highly ranked as the Hogs. USC also allows about 130 to 140 yrds rushing a game. Just a few facts that have not been mentioned yet.

  53. Now we are focusing on the right stuff=getting fired up to roast some chicken!!!! GHG!!! ALL RAZORBACKS!!!

  54. BP is getting us there, the recruits will start to roll in. When you have a team in contention for a NC or BCS bowl game year in and out the recruits see that stuff and they want to be a part of it. We were in it last year and here we are knocking on the door for a 2nd year in a row, and I truly believe this time next year we will be again for we have some very talented freshman this year as well as some redshirts. Mark my words, Whitehurst will become like a Texas’s Shipley type reciever for us. Plus I have a gut feeling we close out this years recruiting class with some big time talent, including reciever DGB. WE ARE GETTING THERE FOR SURE!

  55. Hope you’re right, rmmr. I know it doesn’t happen overnight and we have to be patient. Thank goodness Petrino is getting Warren kids now, mending the fences that HDN knocked down.

  56. jmicha: Moron you have to be kidding, even if they were alabama , they could not come into DWR and hold Hogs to 7 point, you have been drinking again.
I think they will be tough on tyler with pass rush , they must have defensive touchdowns and spec teams touchdowns to win here, auburn had 14 pretty quick but got smoked, as will you if you don’t get 21 or more.

  57. ok to the Hogg nation I am a Gamecock N I want to tell all of U guys this game will not be like last years game so keep ur hats own N ur dentures N ur mouth because we are comming here N play some smash mouth football N yes our Defense is second only to Bmama that’s what I said read the stats all of U non football players I want to leave U with two names Clowney N Ingram go do ur research N get back with me N Jmicha U R right U know our stats N they don’t know stats N yes our Offense may not be were it needs to be but trust me our Defense or real go for the ball guys GO Gamecocks!!!!!!!

  58. okay I don’t have no prediction for Saturday game but yall have struggled against mediocre schools ole miss N Vandy N yall want to talk about my team yo come on U idiots Like I said lets wait to see who comes out on top on Saturday my Defense will keep ur QB Wilson running yo we will jam your WRS N yall don’t have a running game yo get a life N a team yo go look at the schools we have played U idiots Go Gamecocks!!!!!!!!!

  59. steve morrison U R the real Moron Go Gamecocks!!!!!

  60. You know I like the razorbacks but lets be realistic
(1)- We are going to have a hard time moving the ball. Pass rush will take its toll
(2)- Although SC has no offense it will be sufficient against our porous and terrible
    defense.
    (3)- No running game.
    (4) -Home field makes no difference-these guys have won 6 on the road they do not
    fear the road.
(5)- 20-7 gamecocks- no better than 20-14 or 17-14,Clowney and Ingram are the
real deal. I don’t think we realize how good these guys are. They are a two man
    wrecking crew.

  61. well Jmicha your other Hogg fans just don’t know football or their stats for that matter of fact Saturday will be a good game Go Gamecocks!!!!!!

  62. Jmicha and gamecocklick have OBVIOUSLY took entirely WAY TOO MUCH space up on this RAZORBACK site. I see no point in responding to their malarky anymore especially since it’s obvious they were undoubtedly kicked off their own s.c. site. GOHOGS!

  63. TennHawg
Get real man do you really think that the way the razorbacks have been playing the last 3 out of 4 weeks is going to translate into a victory. Forgetaboutit – sorry defense, inconsistent offense and lack of tackling skills brings disaster against exceptional teams, even at home. Remember the fans cant play and the hogs weaknesses will be exposed bigtime
Offensive line, cornerbacks and weak containment on the corners.
WAIT AND SEE AND READ AND WEEP

  64. 5 star Winston not being developed, chasing off 4 star freshman Lonnie Gosha, having one of the worst defenses consistently since his been here. It is time to free Willy Robinson

  65. Free Willie LMAO!!!!!!! well Lonnie is more than welcome to come play for Carolina we will welcome him with open arms N he would be closer to his family come on to South Carolina Lonnie it is sad that both Childs N Wright might miss the game on Saturday N to top it off Gosha quits the team Go Gamecocks bring that win home good lookout Jmicha

  66. YEA I forgot about Winston-great talent and look what has happened not even close to the cornerback he should be.
Willie needs to go- this defense is a disgrace

  67. The only problem the Hogs have had is that they need to hear us calling them. When we shake the stadium at Fetburg™, they will come, and they will bring it! That can of gamecock whoop ass yall been lookin for! Humiliation is such a hard thing to prepare for.. At least you’ve been warned.

  68. oh well all I can say is LETS GO GAMECOCKS !!!!!!! and free Willie LMAO!!!!!!!!!

  69. Hog hermit I agree with U call N the Hoggs LMAO !!!! GO COCKS1111111

  70. HOGS 31 GAMECOCKS 20
